Dr Pramanik's research domain is at the interface of synthetic chemistry, material science and biology to understand the role of chemistry in controlling the functionalities of nanomaterials.

  • Synthesis and characterization of photoluminescent nanoparticles/nanoclusters for bioimaging, sensing and drug delivery applications.
  • Development of photoluminescent nanoparticles emitting in NIR II window (1000-1500 nm) with high quantum yield and understanding their size and composition dependent optical properties.
  • Understanding the influence of surface ligand on optical properties of photoluminescent metal nanoclusters, such as AuNCs, AgNCs, CuNCs.
  • Understanding of the structure property relationship of carbon based nanomaterials , such as graphene, nanodiamond, carbon dot.
